This year Dischi Sotterranei turns 10 and we celebrate with the creation of this incredible object. Crocodrive is a tube overdrive designed, assembled and decorated entirely in Italy by us.
The effect is a warm and harmonic tube distortion with a slight crunch typical of tube amplifiers driven to saturation, which increases until it becomes a distortion, but without losing presence in the low and medium frequencies.
Two knobs: Volume and Gain, stop. Total and immediate control of the sound.
Crocodrive is entirely produced by hand by a craftsman.
Proper processing takes time, so from the moment you order it to the moment you receive it, 3 to 6 weeks may pass, depending on the quantity of orders being handled. We will not fail to keep you updated on the production stages of your creation.
Crocodrives in 5 minutes
It's a very dynamic effect: if you play softly it's little more than a boost, if you play loud it distorts.
PRO TIP: Can be used as a preamp, to warm up the tone through the tube, or as an overdrive, to add a layer of distortion to your sound. Simply put, you can run it all the time with low gain to always take advantage of the warmth of the tube, or use more gain and turn it on when your riff needs more power.

Top components
We use first choice components (Neutrik, Alpha, Wima, Electro Harmonix, Hammond Manufacturing).
There is an input booster circuit for better drive of the tube stage.
Fitted with an Electro Harmonix tube, but it is possible to experiment with different brands or vintage tubes (NOS - new old stock) to search for a particular sound.

Tested and blessed
Crocodrive has been tested to the extreme by our label artists and is shipped with prior blessing.

Power
A 9V supply gives a dirtier sound; a 12V boost increases definition and attack.
Tip : before playing , wait a few minutes for the valve to warm up properly .

The valvolone
We ship the valve separate from the pedal (but in the same pack). You will insert it in its seat when you receive it . It will feel like you are loading a weapon. Press until the glass rests against the white plastic. You can use the valve cover when you need to store or transport the pedal (but don't worry, the valve is very resistant ).
